January Reflection

This month, my aim in my revised timeline was to start primary research. Although I have published no evidence on my blog, a plan has been drawn up for my questions that I plan to ask and I have discussed with my mentor whether these are leading questions/what questions would be beneficial to my dissertation.

By creating a new monthly timeline, this has allowed me to get back on track and begin primary research in order to collect my own data to use in my dissertation.

Next month, I need to publish this plan for my primary research and look at additional secondary research to gain more views on the ethnic diversity of the English curriculum.

Revised Timeline

Due to falling behind in my initial timeline, I have decided to create a revised timeline. I did not account for the amount of coursework and revision I would have to do in my A Levels, and how much this would impact upon the completion of tasks within my EPQ. When looking at my initial timeline to where I am now, I should have finished all research, including gathering primary research, and started planning my dissertation, however it became clear to me in December that this would not be possible if I was to complete these to the best of my ability.

With that, I have decided to create a new timeline, that does not focus on weekly tasks, but looks at tasks to be completed within the month, in order to create less pressure and have more motivation (as I would not fall behind as easily).

January
- I will use this month to start my primary research only, with a focus on creating a questionnaire that can be shared amongst teachers across the UK, which is relevant to my dissertation and topic.

February
- Publish plan for primary research
- Look at more views on the curriculum by using other sources (such as YouTube videos), and using people's experience to either reinforce or go against my point

March
- Distribute the questionnaires to teachers, collect the data and publish on blog
- Continue to look at additional secondary data from more reputable sources (such as BBC)

April
- Finish any research that needs to be completed
- Start dissertation
- Begin presentation

May
